The Sedona Arts Center’s ceramics department is a thriving creative community, deeply inspired by the legacy of Dennis Ott, beloved ceramicist and educator. Now under the direction of studio manager Ben Roti, and enriched by the expertise of instructors John Post and Lolo Howe, our program offers students a welcoming environment for exploration and growth in the ceramic arts.

Field Expeditions are created around the idea of a perfect match between an artist, a special place and the best season to explore that location. We work with local resources and providers to create an exclusive one-of-a-kind experience for participating artists/students. Field Expeditions are designed with expert instruction and support staff. There is no replacement for experiencing life directly with great instruction in a unique location!

Sedona Arts Center’s Online Classes and Workshops are perfect for students who are interested in taking one of our educational opportunities, but are unable to travel. These learning opportunities provide a well-rounded experience in various visual art mediums.

Workshops offer an intensive experience that will provide inspiration and information to distill and practice for months and even years afterwards. A wide variety of disciplines and mediums are offered. Most are appropriate for all levels of students with a few designed specifically for intermediate and advanced students. Sedona Arts Center’s Crash Courses are perfect for beginners, those wanting a refresher, or artists in search of new creative tools. These learning opportunities provide a well-rounded experience in various visual art mediums. Because Crash Courses include all materials, they have no membership discount.

SAC Scholarship awards will pay 50% towards any Class or Workshop tuition. Scholarships are not available for international Field Expeditions or Painting in the Grand Canyon. Sedona Arts Center awards scholarships to students only when funds are available.
